stormy.

we have had some crazzzzzy summer storms in these parts over the last couple of weeks.  complete with tornado sirens and 70 mph winds (sidenote: how bizarre would it be to see a tornado travel down, say, michigan avenue?! ).  here's some great shots captured by not me during june 23rd's chaos:

lightning hitting the willis tower and trump tower at the same time!

and an awesome video of lightning hitting 3 of the tallest buildings in chicago simultaneously:

"when you used to tell me that you chase tornadoes,
deep down i thought it was just a metaphor."
-twister (such an underrated movie!)

  1. I agree, crazy weather over here on the other side of the big lake too. We had a tornado warning last week in the middle of the night and I was completely beside myself (ask sister for proof, she had the pleasure of talking to me during the warning!). Love the pictures you posted.

  3. Umm, yeah, my (work) building MOVED during the crazy winds a couple of weeks ago. It was literally swaying--like you were on a boat--and partners were rushing out of their offices saying things like, "This is crazy, in my 15 years here, I've never felt anything like this." I am still incredibly traumatized by it.
