Flower Girls.

Oh my good lord these are beautiful.  I can't stop staring.  Wouldn't this be the perfect way to capture your wedding blooms to remember them long after they've wilted?  But you'd have to have a sketch done of your dress before the big day.  Hm.  Or wait (yes, I'm just thinking out loud now), perhaps a little photoshop magic to blend a wedding day photograph with a later sketch?!  OK I'll figure that out later.

I chased the source of these gorgeous images through tumblr without much luck.  The best I could come up with was this Chinese website on the watermark.  If anyone sees this and happens to have better information on who created these, shoot me an email!

A 3-day weekend in one place.  Horse races and outdoor potlucks and summer blockbusters.  And I somehow have very few pictures to show for it all.

What a beautiful weekend!  Not just the weather, but the women in both my and C's families coming together at a beautiful beach house to eat beautiful food and get to know each other better before the big day in October.  It all went much too quickly.

Spring Forward | Beach Shower.

I'm probably a little too excited for this weekend. Our first big wedding "event" - my bridal shower with C's side of the family - is tomorrow!  Even more exciting, it's taking place at their family beach house on Long Beach Island, New Jersey.  I get a beach weekend out of the deal!  And my whole family is coming too, so yea, excitement.

Have a wonderful weekend.

The Ad (Wo)men.

Due to Mad Men's 2-year drought on the Emmy front (after a 4-year winning streak as Outstanding Drama Series), they've decided to go all out with their "for your consideration" ads to Emmy voters this year (Yes, this is a thing.  It's weird to me too.) with some very clever and period-perfect print ads.  And as lowly viewers, we just get to enjoy them.

A thing like that!

Jon Hamm needs an Emmy for this role badly, but I'm in the Bryan Cranston for final episodes of Breaking Bad camp this year I'm afraid (or if you're so inclined: Matthew McConaughey for True Detective, but I lean toward the former).  Next year, though.  The Emmy Awards 2015 better include Jon Hamm's name :)  I'd also love to see Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell) and Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper) get some nomination love soon.

Have you been enjoying Season 7 Part 1 better than Season 6 like I have been?  It's not quite back to the heights of Season 4 (my personal favorite), but just like Don, MM is getting its mojo back.

Spring Forward | Mothers.

You may have noticed that I seem to be exclusively posting flower pictures on my Friday posts.  What was once a mild obsession with always having seasonal flowers in my home has become a full-blown love affair in the last six months or so.  Pretty much since I dove into planning our wedding flowers.  I could look at pictures of pretty flowers all day long.  Design*Sponge posted this 14 Florists to Follow yesterday and I went down a rabbit hole.  My favorite was a  lovely little U.K. flower shop called Fairy Nuff Flowers (I mean, look at this feed!), which I've decided was named just for me, what with my love of all things fairy tale and the fact that my family is always making fun of me for saying "fair enough" in response to everything.  It's pretty much my catchphrase.

Floral tangent aside, I'm looking forward to a weekend at home in Michigan, which has been filled up with a best friend's bridal shower, seeing another best friend's new home, my hair trial, and mother's day, of course.  I'm in charge of making breakfast this year.  Ohhh boy, the pressure ;)  It being mother's day, fresh flowers will also be in attendance.

Have a wonderful weekend, and some extra special love to my mom and all moms this weekend!
