Wedding | Fall Flowers.

Flower choices in the fall in the midwest - not exactly unlimited (I shake my fists at you Californians and your almost year-round peonies!).  I've been pinning like crazy for inspiration and out-of-the-box thinking.  Big, pale pink dahlias are my #1 "I need that!" along with lovely greenery and possibly anemones.  Of course I haven't even begun to seek out our florist yet, but this part is too fun, especially since they're in season right now.

By all means, leave any fall flower recommendations you have in the comments!  And riddle me this: what's your favorite flower?  Mine is the aforementioned peony (in a coral!), but dinner plate dahlias are a close second.

  1. if you are getting married in Chicago, I worked with Erin Foster from A Stem Above this past April, and had an amazing experience. She was very conscious of my budget, and my vision of what I wanted, and the arrangements exceeded my expectations. My bouquet lasted over a week after the day once I put it in water. So nice to have the flowers for a little bit longer. Good luck with the planning!

  2. I'm with you Di, I love peonies and dahlias best! And this mood board is so lovely! We really loved working with Chuck at Flora.. my fave part was flipping through flashcards of the flowers that were in season and picking them out with him. I was dying for dahlias, but sadly they weren't in season, but we rounded out the look with other options that I hadn't even heard of. Either way, I know it's going to be gorgeous!
