the land of oz.

i can't believe it has taken me this long to share with you one of my favorite little spots in all of chicago: oz park in lincoln park.  so here i am to rectify that situation.  the park was named for the wonderful wizard offrank l. baum, who had settled in chicago in 1891.  every time i pass the area it makes me smile.

“i am convinced that the only people worthy of consideration in this world are the unusual ones.
for the common folks are like the leaves of a tree, and live and die unnoticed.”
- l. frank baum, the land of oz

  2. Wow, what a cool park. I added it to my list for the next time I'm in Chicago. I think it's so interesting that we all think of Dorothy's red slippers as they were originally silver in the book, but changed to pop more on the movie screen. ;)
