costuming.

when i first started volunteering with the joffrey ballet, i was given a tour of its studio and offices.  by far the coolest part was the wardrobe department.  they were gearing up for their annual production of the nutcracker at the time, which meant i was treated to an in-person viewing of the sugar plum fairy's costume (i even touched her crown!), a most memorable moment for this ballet fan girl.

i do believe you will all find this inside look at the joffrey's wardrobe department as fascinating as i did.  below, some fabulous photographs of the department hard at work on this fall's performance, the world premiere of don quixote.

for extra coolness, listen to this short interview with travis halsey from wardrobe about the don quixote costumes.
