allow me to introduce you to gwen frostic prints. gwen was a michigan stationery designer and a lover of nature, and she merged the two beautifully in her prints. i was first introduced to her during an "artists in the afternoon" type event way back in elementary school, and i still buy her designs today. they're simple and just lovely.
this little guy was my absolute favorite of her designs when i was a little girl.
last summer, on a trip to the northwestern part of the state of michigan with my mom, i had my first opportunity to visit gwen frostic's studio.
although she has passed on, her studio is still open to the public, complete with the most adorable and enormous shop, with nature peeking its way in wherever it can. i was positively giddy to finally be there.
