Oops, I Did It Again.

Yup, I disappeared on you for another month.  Blerg.  How about some images of this very cool art installation at the Tower of London to make up for it?  The ceramic red poppies (888,246 to be exact!) signify and are in honor of British and British colony fatalities during World War I.  Designed by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, the name gives me chills: Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red.

The installation was unveiled in London just today, so if you're over there, go!  August 5, 2014 represents 100 years since the first day of Britain's involvement in WWI.  Poppies will be added to the installation over time, with the final flower being "planted" on November 11, 2014, Veteran's Day in the United States and a day of remembrance in the U.K.  See more images here.

Until next time ;)

P.S. Happy Birthday, Kleine Schwester!
