jesslc love.

some of you might have noticed the button on the side of a spot of whimsy declaring myself a "jesslc ambassador."  today i'm going to explain what that means.

jesslc - jess constable - is the self-made chicago-based jewelry designer behind, and a fellow blogger over at makeunder my life, one of the first blogs i ever read as well as one of the most inspirational!

she also happens to be a real-life friend (not that online friends aren't wonderful, because they are, but knowing someone in person is pretty special too, dontcha think?!).  my old roommate, little j, went to college with jess.  during law school, we hosted a baubles & bubbles jewelry party for jesslc, and the rest is history!

jess names her collections after the different streets in chicago (heart this!), and she constantly strives to create new and unique looks for customers.  some of my favorite collections below:

and her newest collection, diversey, is no exception:

there's also the jesslc "diane" collection, which i've been curating on my own (hehe)...

my most favorite: the small octagon necklace from the division collection...

try to ignore the goofy pose, but that's me wearing it at the wizarding world of harry potter earlier this month.  it originally drew my eye because it looks like the dharma initiative symbol from LOST, and now i seem to put it on most days of the week.  it's just the right size, and i like that it has a bit of special meaning to me (since i was such a big lostie!).  i also always wear it on flights because - confession - i'm a really bad flier, and having something that relates to a plane crash around my neck is a sort of tongue-in-cheek take on my fear.  and i guess a good-luck charm of sorts?!  i realize it doesn't make a ton of sense, but that's ok :)

jesslc's jewelry is some of my favorite pieces in my jewelry collection.  i love her entrepreneurial story (such gumption!), i love that she's doing what she wants to do with her life, and i love the passion with which she runs her business.  she is quite the inspiration.  and that's why i'm proud to be a jesslc ambassador!
