grateful: week 24

inspired by my reading of the happiness project by gretchen rubin, i am instituting monday "gratitude" posts (read here for more detail), where i will list "3 things i'm grateful for" from the previous week.

the 3 things i'm grateful for this week are:

1)  it's october!  i get to celebrate my favorite holiday for the next month!

2) a very productive weekend of craft projects, baking, football, and halloween decorating and movie watching!

3) with the help of my lovely friend c, i got back into knitting and actually have a project to do now (which i hope will keep me going and get me beyond the hopeless-beginner level!).  pretty excited about it.  do any of you knit?!  it's such a calming activity...

here's to another grateful week.

  1. Aw, how lovely! Hocus Pocus is definitely my favorite Halloween film. I quote it all the time. And the word "amok" will never ever be the same!
I've been inspired to take up knitting lately - it seems like such a calming, autumnal sort of activity. I used to crochet but was never very good at it, unfortunately!

  2. lol "amok" - top 5 moments in the movie.

knitting IS so calming. it's a little tricky at first, but then you ease into it. i am far from an expert, but i still really enjoy it nonetheless!

  3. Yay knitting! Welcome back! This October marks my 6th year of knitting and I can't imagine life without it. I highly, highly recommend a visit to Loopy Yarns at Dearborn and Polk. It is easily the best yarn store in the city. I would also recommend visiting Ravelry.com if you haven't already. It is incredibly inspiring to see what other knitters are creating. It's also a really good place to turn for help.
