grateful: week 10.

inspired by my reading of the happiness project by gretchen rubin, i am instituting monday "gratitude" posts (read here for more detail), where i will list "3 things i'm grateful for" from the previous week.

the 3 things i'm grateful for this week are:

1) my 3 favorite 2010 world cup teams (USA, ENGLAND, DEUTSCHLAND) all made it out of the group phase.  although i obviously wish USA could have gotten that win against ghana to keep going...

2) one of my first and best childhood friends had her first child, a healthy baby girl (congrats to a and m!)

3) i discovered a new tv show that is so in my wheelhouse: party down.  i watched the entire first season this weekend.  it's a very arrested development awkward humor kind of comedy, and i ate it up.  season 2 is now airing on starz, but since i don't get that channel, i'll have to wait for the dvds to fully catch-up, but watch!  it's good, i promise!  (bonus: the always amazing jane lynch was in season 1, to be replaced by the just as awesome megan mullally in season 2!)

here's to another grateful week.

  1. If you have Netflix, you can watch Party Down season 2 for free!

  2. I told you Party Down was good! Netflix has Seasons 1 and 2 on its "Instant" feature. Season 2 actually wrapped up this weekend, and I think I enjoyed 2 better than 1, so it keeps getting better.

  3. alas, i have blockbuster online, and not netflix :(

SARAH! i meant to email you today to tell you how much i loved it! thanks mucho for the recommendation!

  4. Well, it's the least I can do after all the fabulous shows you've recommended to me! I'm a little bit worried, though, because I read that Adam Scott is on "Parks and Recreation" now, though I'm not sure if it's as a guest or if it's a permanent role. If it's a permanent role, I hope he can do both shows!

  5. yes he is, he came in w/ rob lowe, it's a great storyline and adam scott is awesome in it, but i believe it's just a recurring role, not permanent!

  6. Disaster. I just read on (another great Diane recommendation and CLEARLY what I should be doing at work when I have assignments due...) that Starz is not renewing Party Down for a third season. Fail, Starz, fail.

  7. yea the irony of our little discussion about it doesn't make me less bummed about the cancellation!

  8. I love Party Down! Was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who did!

BTW, I love your Grateful posts. Starting to think more people (myself included? Yes...) should. Keep it up!

thanks so much for the note! i love reading your comments. xo. di.
